About the Role

We are hiring a Biomedical Engineer to join our dynamic clinical engineering team at a leading NABH-accredited multi-specialty hospital in Kolkata. You will be responsible for the safe installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medical devices and equipment across departments including ICU, OT, Radiology, Emergency, and more.

This is a critical role that directly supports patient care, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To attend day to day equipment breakdown calls
  • To carry out preventive maintenance services
  • To carry out Calibration maintenance services
  • To carry out other tasks assigned by BME/ABME
  • Install, calibrate, and commission biomedical equipment in coordination with OEMs.
  • Conduct preventive & corrective maintenance of devices like ventilators, defibrillators, monitors, infusion pumps, and imaging systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain documentation: equipment inventory, service logs, AMC/CMC records.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with safety standards and hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to train staff on safe and effective device usage.
  • Coordinate with vendors for maintenance, parts replacement, and support.
  • Assist with procurement planning and audits (NABH/JCI compliance support).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • 2–7 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setup.
  • Freshers with internship experience in hospital-based biomedical departments may also apply.
