Job Summary:
As a Chef De Partie - Japanese Cuisine, you will play a key role in preparing and presenting authentic Japanese dishes. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. Your expertise in Japanese culinary techniques and ingredients will contribute to the success of our kitchen and the satisfaction of our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and other traditional items, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., sushi station, grill, or cold kitchen) and manage its operations efficiently.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in your section, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for new dishes or specials.
- Monitor inventory levels for your section and communicate supply needs to the Head Chef.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Uphold the restaurant's standards for quality, service, and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef De Partie or similar role, specializing in Japanese cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditions.
- Strong skills in sushi and sashimi preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
