Executive Summary YPS Transnational Trading LLP is seeking an exceptionally specialized and provenPrincipal Commissioning Consultantto lead the startup, technical validation, and operational readiness of our seamless pipe manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat.The successful candidate will possess indispensable, hands-on experience with the specific European machinery installed: theGFM SKK 14 Radial Forging Milland theVítkovice Universal Cross and Elongating Mill (UCEM). This role is critical to transitioning second-hand equipment into a high-precision production asset for Stainless Steel and High Alloy tubes (40 mm to 155 mm OD).II. Core Responsibilities (Technical Commissioning) Integrated Mill Commissioning:Lead the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic commissioning of the entire rolling sequence, focusing specifically on the GFM SKK 14 and the Vitkovice UCEM. This includes completing and validating the UCEM's hydraulic system. Tooling & Pass Schedule Validation:Develop, calculate, and validate the precise mandrel and die pass schedules required for forging high work-hardening materials (e.g., Duplex, Austenitic Stainless Steel, High-Nickel Alloys) across the 40 mm to 155 mm diameter range. Process Optimization:Conduct rigorous run-out trials and stability assessments (FAT/SAT) to ensure the UCEM roll force and torque capacity (max 650 kN/roll and 55 kNm/roll) are correctly calibrated for high-alloy piercing and elongation. Hydraulic System Expertise:Troubleshoot and optimize the proprietary hydraulic timing, accumulator pressure settings, and rapid cycling electronic controls specific to the GFM SKK 14 forging action. Documentation and Training:Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance protocols, and initial training curricula for the local team regarding the operation and maintenance of the specialized rolling and forging units. Spares Inventory Audit:Conduct a mandatory audit of the GFM and UCEM machinery to identify critical, proprietary spare parts that must be sourced immediately to mitigate risks associated with legacy European equipment.III. Required Expertise and Experience (Mandatory) 10+ Years of Commissioning Experience:Minimum ten (10) years of direct, senior-level experience in the technical commissioning, overhaul, or operations of seamless tube/pipe mills [Context]. GFM SKK 14 Specialist:Direct, verifiable experience operating, refurbishing, or commissioning the GFM SKK radial forging machine or similar GFM models. Vitkovice UCEM Specialist:Direct, verifiable experience with Vítkovice Universal Cross and Elongating Mill technology, preferably acquired through working at or consulting for Vítkovice Machinery Trade (VMT) or similar Central European manufacturers. High Alloy Metallurgy:Proven expertise in the unique challenges of hot working and cold drawing seamless products made from high-value materials (Stainless Steel, Duplex, Superalloys). Engineering Acumen:Strong background in hydraulic and electronic control systems, mechanical interface validation, and developing dimensional compliance protocols (e.g., tolerance control for seamless pipe used in petrochemical or energy sectors).IV. Desirable Qualifications Prior experience working in Central European heavy engineering facilities (Germany, Czech Republic) where GFM and Vítkovice equipment is prevalent. Experience interfacing with international tooling design consultants (e.g., Formtek, SMS Group). Fluency in technical English is essential; German or Czech language skills are a strong asset.
