We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team for the GPI mainframe application project. This role is aimed at replacing a resource going on Machine Learning (ML) training, and the ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

Job Title : Mainframe Developer

Experience : 3-7 years

Location : Chennai, India


Key Responsibilities :


- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. Ensure that the applications are optimized for performance and adhere to industry best practices.


- Analyze technical specifications and requirements to propose effective solutions. You will be responsible for designing the technical architecture for the applications and validating the design against functional requirements.


- Gather and analyze project requirements and develop appropriate technical designs and strategies. Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions.


- Work closely with other development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment with project goals. Collaborate effectively to ensure smooth project delivery and support.


- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications, identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing code for maximum efficiency.


- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and code comments, ensuring that all development processes are well-documented and clear for future reference.


- Participate actively in Agile SCRUM teams, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.


- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements in an Agile environment.


- Provide support to junior developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.


Skills & Experience :


- Strong expertise in Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.


- Ability to analyze complex requirements and propose effective technical solutions.


- Prior experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment (preferred).


- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.


- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
