Job Title: Product Manager

Location: Vishakhapatnam

Experience: Overall 10+ years of experience in the areas of manufacturing plastic & electronic components/devices.


Role Objective:

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to oversee the seamless transfer of projects from R&D to the manufacturing site, including feasibility studies, gap assessments, and technology transfers. This role will also be responsible for troubleshooting any product-related issues faced during manufacturing and implementing improvements in the manufacturing process and the product itself.


Responsibilities:

Project Transfer:

  • Manage and coordinate the transfer of new products and technologies from R&D to the manufacturing site.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans to ensure timely and successful product transfer.

Feasibility Studies:

  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies to assess the practicality of new products and technologies in the manufacturing environment.
  • Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.

Gap Assessment:

  • Perform gap assessments to identify discrepancies between current manufacturing capabilities and new product requirements.
  • Develop action plans to address identified gaps and ensure manufacturing readiness.

Technology Transfer:

  • Lead technology transfer activities, including process validation, documentation, and training of manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure all technology transfer processes comply with regulatory and quality standards.

Troubleshooting:

  • Address and resolve product-related issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Process and Product Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive product improvements based on feedback from manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer insights.

Production Planning:

  • Develop an effective manufacturing strategy together with the plant manager and the executive team.
  • Ensure production lines run at optimal levels to meet production targets with the right quality.

Collaboration:

  • Drive collaboration across teams to meet targets, resolve issues, and implement new ideas and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, IT, etc.) to develop production plans.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure incoming quality of parts and sub-assemblies.

Data Management:

  • Ensure accurate production data capture and data analysis to improve productivity, quality, and maintenance of machines, jigs, and fixtures.


Qualifications:

  • M.E. / M.Tech / B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electronics & Electrical).
  • Strong knowledge in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, including process capability analysis.
  • Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Knowledge in factory automation, machine building, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of Product Validation Processes like APQP and PPAP will be an added advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of production management.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience in reporting using key production metrics.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
