- Proficiency in firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control mechanisms.
- 10+ Years of Experience with configure and manage network Cisco routers to ensure efficient and secure routing of data traffic, including IP routing, subnetting, and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- 10+ Years of experience Configure and maintain Palo Alto, FortiGate firewall systems to enforce security policies, access controls, and threat prevention mechanisms, ensuring protection against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- 10+ Years of experience into Implement firewall rules, access lists, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to safeguard the network from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.
- Monitor network traffic and firewall logs to detect and respond to security incidents, anomalies, and potential network breaches.
- Conduct initial analysis of security incidents related to routers and firewalls, categorize their severity, and escalate to higher-level teams as needed.
- Configure and manage virtual private network (VPN) connections to ensure secure remote access for employees, partners, and vendors.
- Collaborate with network engineers to optimize network performance by fine-tuning router configurations, managing Quality of Service (QoS), and implementing network load balancing.
- Implement configuration changes to routers and firewalls in a controlled manner, adhering to change management processes and minimizing service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of router and firewall configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Work closely with network administrators, security analysts, and cross-functional IT teams to troubleshoot network issues, implement security best practices, and ensure a cohesive network environment.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and incident response best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and security incidents.
