Are you a passionate News Reporter with a keen interest in the hotel industry?


Our media company is seeking a talented News Reporter to join our team and cover breaking news, industry trends, and developments within the hotel sector. This role offers the opportunity for growth, with the potential for progression into a Content Writer position for candidates with relevant experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Research, investigate, and report on breaking news, industry trends, and hotel-related developments, delivering timely and engaging coverage.
  • Conduct interviews with industry leaders and other relevant stakeholders to gather insights and quotes.
  • Write clear, compelling news articles for publication on our media platform, website, newsletter, and social media channels.
  • Adhere to journalistic ethics and standards, including accuracy, fairness, and impartiality.
  • Monitor news sources, press releases, and social media channels for relevant stories and updates.
  • Collaborate with editors and fellow reporters to brainstorm story ideas and coverage angles.
  • Develop sources and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, hotel partners, and media contacts.
  • Assist with content creation and production as needed, including contributing to editorial planning and special projects.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a News Reporter, Journalist, or similar role covering the hospitality or travel industry.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Excellent research, interviewing, and fact-checking abilities.
  • Knowledge of AP style, journalistic principles, and media law.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in content writing, copywriting, or editorial work.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content marketing principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Creative thinking and willingness to contribute ideas for content development.
