SAP Basis Consultant

Description :Experience : Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in SAP Basis administration and management.Desired Candidate Profile :- Should be ready to work in a non IT, end user retail company like ours- Handled /lead team of min 2-3 membersTechnical Expertise :- In-depth knowledge of SAP Basis components, architecture, and administration.- Experience with ECC, NetWeaver, SAP HANA, S/4HANA(good to have), Solution Manager, and other SAP solutions.- Proficiency in database management (e.g., SQL Server, HANA) and OS (Windows, Unix(good to have), Linux(good to have)).- Expertise in system migration, upgrades, and cloud-based SAP environments.Performance and Optimization : Strong understanding of performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization techniques.Security : Knowledge of SAP security architecture, role-based access control, and compliance standards.Tools and Technologies : Proficiency in SAP tools such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP Transport Management, and monitoring tools like CCMS, SAP EarlyWatch.Project Management : Ability to lead projects with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely and effective delivery.Leadership Qualities :- Strong leadership and team management skills.- Ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.Problem Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Key Responsibilities :1. Primary POC (point of contact) for enhancements & support in & around the technical part of the entire landscape viz. SAP ERP, EP, PI, CPI, BW, BWP EP, BOBJ, Soman2. Ensuring zero unplanned downtime, and within accepted limits of planned downtimes. Improving Y-o-Y productivity3. Ensuring regular & necessary House-keeping, monitoring, health check, maintenance of entire landscapes4. Validating & owning the technical changes and design5. Manages & Communicates effectively with partners /stakeholders like banks, other vendors, sister concerns, leads resources (external & internal)6. Escalating in criticalities, major incidents, requiring or during down times and whenever necessary7. Drive & manage projects (big /small) effectively towards completion in time, using resources judiciously & effectively and high productivity. Plan implementations with least calculated risks with mitigation /rollback /alternative plans. Apprising all stakeholders especially reporting head regularly & escalating (if necessary) .8. Maintains all proper documents related to project, maintenance & support in accepted formats as per known standards9. Training team and end users10. Does business process study with the help of a business team. Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution. Draft RFP and RFQs, evaluate partners &various solutions offerings from vendors.11. Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner during testing.12. Communicates needed changes to SAP & other application teams.13. Plans effectively, sets priorities, and manages several complex projects simultaneously while working to meet project deadlines.14. Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.15. Continuous improvements areas to landscape and implement them16. Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules during project execution.17. Delivers informative, well-organized presentations and can communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.SAP Basis Administration :a. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems.b. Manage system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance.c. Ensure system availability, security, and reliability through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.d. Collaborate with SAP functional, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless system operations.System Performance and Optimization : a. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement tuning techniques to optimize system efficiency.b. Identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring the SAP environment is running smoothly and efficiently.Disaster Recovery and Backup :a. Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery solutions.b. Ensure system backups are successful to ensure data integrity.Security Management :a. Ensure the security and compliance of SAP systems, including user access management, role-based security, and audit compliance.b. Implement and manage security patches, monitor vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents.Team Management :a. Lead and mentor a team of SAP Basis administrators.b. Assign tasks, provide performance feedback, and support career development for team members.Vendor and Stakeholder Management :a. Coordinate with vendors, partners, and SAP support for system maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.b. Collaborate with business stakeholders to align SAP systems with business goals and objectives.Project Management :a. Lead SAP Basis-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.b. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.Documentation and Reporting :a.
