Laundry Attendant

The primary responsibility of the Laundry Attendant is to perform laundry duties such as the receiving, washing, drying/ironing and delivering linen from all departments in accordance with company standards and to assist the Linen Keeper in the control, storage, delivery, and receiving of all linens, towels, and uniforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational:
 Work in conjunction with the Laundry Assistant Manager.
 Notify the Laundry Assistant Manager of any problems regarding the linen, towels and uniforms.
 Receive soiled galley uniforms, sort, and issue clean ones.
 Responsible for the main linen and uniform storage room.
 Inventory Linen and Uniform storage room with the Laundry Assistant Manager when required by Director of F&B or Head of Department.
 Assist in checking the condition of linen towels and uniforms and inform Laundry Assistant and
Housekeeping Supervisor of any issues or damages.
 Assist the Laundry Assistant Manager with the counting and logging all the incoming and outgoing linens, towels and uniforms.
 Prepare linens and towels for Suite and House Attendants for morning and turn down service.
 Ensure that all Suite Attendants and House Attendants have enough linens and towels for service of suites.
 Inform Laundry Assistant Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor promptly of any shortages.
 Advises Laundry Assistant Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor when there is a need to issue new
linen and towels for guest and crew.
 Together with Laundry Assistant Manager responsible for overall cleanliness of Linen Room, Uniform
room and Linen room Office.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
 Ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
 Achieve the primary objectives of the position and comply with the above-mentioned accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with policies.
 Project a favorable image of the company, promote its aims and objectives, and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas and endeavors.
 Always comply with the safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures, Participating in all relevant meetings and training sessions.
 Participate in all mandatory training without excuse.

Required
Minimum of 3 years related experience in hospitality field, preferably in laundry in luxury hotels and/onboard cruise line.

Assistant Laundry Manager

The primary responsibility of the Laundry Attendant is to ensure that all laundry services within the ship operation meet the highest possible standards and are conducted in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsible for the laundering and pressing of all company linens, uniforms, crews private clothing and guests clothing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational
 Work with and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor and Executive Housekeeper of all activities and
problems regarding the Laundry Operation.
 Organize and control the laundry department and maintain all relevant records.
 Ensure proper procedures are followed to avoid any damage to ship or company property.
 Analyze procedures to propose ways for improvement and institute safety measures.
 Maintain highest standards of cleanliness, following set policies, standards and procedures.
 Follow up with the Engineering Department on repair orders (AVO) and preventive maintenance.
 Organize production schedules to meet the requirements of various departments.
 Conduct regular water analysis.
 Check on production methods and procedures, issue necessary orders to correct shortcomings,
maintain accurate inventory and monitor and control stock as required.
 Ensure all correct procedures are followed up to maximize the life of the linens and uniforms
 Ensures that all equipment in the laundry is being used as per Manufacturer guidelines and
instruction by the onboard technical dept.
 Ensure that dirty areas and clean areas are clear in the laundry and trolleys are clearly labelled.
 Ensure chemical locker is kept neat and tidy and all chemicals are separated correctly. That MSDS
sheet file is kept up to date.
 Conduct training for laundry Attendants and provide regular feedback regarding their performance.
 Ensure that laundry employees are knowledgeable about ship hotel services and facilities.
 Prepare duty schedule.
 Counsel and evaluate staff.
 Investigate complaints and take corrective action.
 Ensure personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform are in accordance with company rules and
regulations.
 Ensure Personal protective equipment is used, and proper procedures and instructions are followed
at all times.
 Responsibility for quarterly linen inventory management counts ensuring proper par is accounted for
and discard linen is sorted and tracked.

Required
Minimum of 3 years related experience as Laundry Master in luxury hotels and/or onboard cruise line.
