JOB DESCRIPTION- DESIGNERWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design and simulation of ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV systems for industrial, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role demands strong technical skills, hands-on experience with solar simulation tools (like PVsyst), and familiarity with National and international electrical standards.KEY RESPONSIBITIESDesign solar PV systems (rooftop & ground-mounted) across LV & MV levels.Generate detailed design drawings and documentation including:AC & DC SLDsCable routing and sizingEarthing and lightning protection layoutsShadow analysis and string configurationPanel layout and all relevant drawingsConduct solar simulations and energy yield assessments using tools like PVsyst and SketchUp.Prepare technical documentation for:DISCOM approvalsEPC tenderingInternal BOQs and procurement teamsSupport feasibility studies and cost–benefit analysis through performance modelling and LCOE calculations.Coordinate across design, procurement, execution, and O&M teams.Ensure compliance with:MNRE, DISCOM, and CEIG normsRelevant IS/IEC/NEC standardsProvide technical assistance during installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring phases.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSEducational BackgroundB.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline from a recognized AICTE-approved institute.Technical SkillsMandatory:Proficiency in AutoCADPV simulation using PVsyst (minimum 1 year of hands-on use)Minimum of 1 years of experience in solar energy projects.Knowledge of Google SketchUpCable sizing, string configuration, grid integration principlesPreferred:Experience with PVsyst, SketchUp, or other layout tools and electrical design software.Exposure to battery storage and hybrid systemsProfessional AttributesStrong attention to detail, problem-solving mindsetEffective communication skills (written and verbal)Able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teamsCapable of managing multiple projects with tight timelines
