The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the SolarWinds Orion suite, with experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of the platform as well as PowerShell Development. This role plays a critical part in ensuring observability, performance monitoring, and automation across our global infrastructure.Key Responsibilities : - Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform, including NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM, and other modules.Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating SolarWinds tasks such as : - Node onboarding/offboarding- Alert suppression or muting during maintenance windows- Custom alert/report generation and distribution o SolarWindsServiceNow integration enhancements- Implement custom monitoring logic, automated diagnostics, and integrations via Orion API, SWIS, and REST endpoints.- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand automation needs and deliver solutions that support observability workflows.- Build tools and utilities to support monitoring self-service, reporting automation, and configuration validation.- Manage custom Pollers, SNMP configurations, and agentless/agent-based monitoring across multi-vendor environments.- Design and optimize SWQL and SQL queries to support reports and custom dashboards for tailored views.- Configure and maintain alert logic, escalation policies, and notification integrations (e.g., with ServiceNow, email, Teams).- Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, leveraging SolarWinds logs and metrics.- Maintain security posture of the application, including RBAC, SNMPv3, and audit logging.- Contribute to and maintain Kanban board tasks and documentation related to SolarWinds projects and issues.Required Skills & Experience : - 5+ years of hands-on experience managing SolarWinds environments (Orion Platform 2020.2.6 or newer).- 3+ years of PowerShell development experience focused on infrastructure and monitoring automation.- Strong experience with Orion SDK, SWQL Studio, and SolarWinds API integrations.- Strong understanding of PowerShell classes, modules, error handling, and parallelization techniques.- SQL Server knowledge, including query optimization, performance tuning, and CTEs.- Familiarity with network topology mapping, NetPath, and NetFlow analysis.- Experience in large-scale monitoring environments (>1000 nodes).- Solid understanding of Windows Server, IIS, and system-level diagnostics.- Comfortable working in Kanban/Agile environments with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple teams and technical stakeholders.
