Pain Management Nurse

The Medical City for Military and Security Services

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

The Medical City for Military and Security Services (MCMSS) in Muscat Oman is a Tertiary/Quaternary Care level city providing services to patients of different age groups in different specialties.

MCMSS is seeking to appoint Pain Management Nurse, who is well trained and highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the MCMSS.

Education/Qualifications:

  • BSc in Nursing +
  • Preferably, with post graduate certificate in pain management.
  • Prometric exam passed in OMSB and Data flow.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years postgraduate experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides an expert pain management care and advice for patients throughout the acute settings.

To work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively co-ordinate and deliver an expert nursing service within the specialist area.

Managing patients in acute/chronic pain settings by providing skilled and proper assessment, planning and evaluation of pain management services required to optimise patient treatment and experience.

To provide specialist knowledge and skills for example, management/programming of PCA pumps/epidural systems and training medical/nursing staff within their scope of practice.

To plan, supervise and participate in a delivery of programmes of education and training according to the needs of clients, carers and others, and implement changes in response to identified needs.

Salary will be based upon qualification, experience and available vacancies, using Oman Medical Bylaw.
