About the Agency

The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) is responsible for national digital health services and systems, with a focus on engagement, innovation and clinical quality and safety. Our focus is on putting data and technology safely to work for patients, consumers and the health care professionals who look after them.

About the Role

The Senior Internal Communications Officer (APS 6) is responsible for delivering clear, engaging and visually compelling internal communications that support the Agency’s strategic priorities and foster a connected, informed and motivated workforce. This includes developing content in collaboration with stakeholders across diverse business areas and coordinating its distribution across a range of internal channels.

A key component of the role involves planning and delivering internal events such as all-staff meetings, staff briefings, in-office events and the Annual Agency Awards. These events are designed to promote staff engagement, celebrate achievements and reinforce the Agency’s culture and values. The Annual Agency Awards, in particular, play a central role in recognising excellence and fostering a sense of pride and belonging across the organisation. The role also supports the Assistant Director, Internal and Executive Communications, in annual planning activities contributing to the development of internal strategic communication frameworks and forward work programs.

With a strong focus on promoting the Agency’s programs and initiatives, the Senior Internal Communications Officer proactively works with divisions and branches to source and feature content on intranet homepages, ensuring visibility of key initiatives and achievements. The role also maintains a forward calendar of internal communications aligned to Agency priorities, enabling timely and strategic engagement across the workforce.

The Senior Internal Communications Officer applies sound judgement and develops strategic solutions to address challenges and enhance staff engagement. The role provides expert advice and support to multiple stakeholders, often managing competing priorities under limited direction in a fast-paced environment.
