Head of Project Management leads the overall project management function, overseeing the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of strategic programs across the organization. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.The incumbent will manage a team of project managers, establish best practices, and drive operational excellence, governance, and client satisfaction across all project portfolios. This position also serves as a senior liaison between clients, business stakeholders, and internal operations teams.Key Leadership:- Lead the Project Management Office (PMO), developing frameworks, tools, and processes to ensure consistent project delivery.- Collaborate with business leadership to define project management strategy, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.- Provide leadership, mentorship, and career development to a team of Project Managers and Coordinators.- Represent the function in executive meetings, strategic reviews, and business planning sessions.Program & Client Management:- Oversee a portfolio of strategic client and internal projects, serving as executive sponsor for key accounts.- Ensure alignment between client objectives and internal execution, driving cross-functional collaboration and accountability.- Lead communication, risk management, and issue resolution across diverse project teams.- Support business development and proposals by contributing to project scoping, resourcing, and timelines.Operational Excellence:- Implement best practices in project governance, change management, and risk mitigation.- Partner with Operations, Finance, HR, and other business units to ensure seamless project execution.- Track and report on project KPIs, timelines, and profitability to senior leadership.- Drive process optimization and continuous improvement to enhance delivery efficiency and client satisfaction.Financial & Contractual Management:- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance across the portfolio.- Ensure accurate billing, cost recovery, and scope alignment with contractual terms.- Identify and escalate opportunities for scope expansion or new & Experience:- Master's or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations, or related discipline (Masters or PMP certification preferred).- 10+ years of experience in project or program management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.- Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.- Strong background in stakeholder management, governance frameworks, and operational delivery.Skills & Competencies:- Strategic and operational leadership with the ability to set vision, inspire teams, and drive accountability.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for executive-level engagement.- Deep understanding of project management methodologies, governance structures, and lifecycle management.- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management.- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or equivalent) and ERP/CRM systems.- Results-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing both strategic initiatives and tactical execution.
