Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator with 2-5 years of

hands-on expertise. The ideal candidate will manage, optimize, and troubleshoot our

PostgreSQL databases to ensure seamless performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

 Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems.

 Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries for

efficiency.

 Design and implement database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.

 Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through effective policies and tools.

 Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database

schemas.

 Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.

 Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.

 Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Python or Bash.

 Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and

procedures.

 Stay updated with PostgreSQL advancements and recommend best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

Must-Have:

 2-5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.

 Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and optimization

techniques.

 Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.

 Hands-on experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., pgAdmin, Nagios, or

equivalent).

 Experience in database backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning.

 Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred:

 Knowledge of high availability and replication solutions (e.g., Streaming Replication,

pgpool-II).

 Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database

for PostgreSQL).

 Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.

 PostgreSQL certification is a strong advantage.
