JOB DESCRIPTION:

Samsung Semiconductor India R&D (SSIR) contributes to commercializing Exynos SoC’s Wi-Fi connectivity solutions to significant number of smartphones and tablets. Radio Firmware Team develops embedded software to optimize radio performance for Wi-Fi (IEEE 80211a/b/g/n/ac/ax) chipsets. We act as a bridge between analogue/digital designers and WLAN firmware developers. Your role will be as a technical contributor in our enthusiastic team, taking on exciting opportunities in design and development, radio bring up, debugging of complex low level embedded/radio issues and RF optimization to meet customer requirements in real-time environments. This position requires someone comfortable and flexible to deliver quality deliverables in a constantly evolving technology. A keen interest in wireless technology and the operation of radio frequency hardware will be useful.


Responsibilities:

  • Technical contribution to radio firmware development tasks (requirements, design, code, bring up, unit/system test, documentation, code review and support).
  • Understand and improve radio calibrations.
  • Contribute to the improvement of retrieving, analyzing and presenting low level debug data.
  • Work with Team lead/Program Managers to ensure timely delivery of project.
  • Investigate real-time radio issues and provide performance improvements/fix to customer. Contribute towards the continuous development of the team’s processes and deliverables. Contribute towards development of test system and RF coverage to latest standards.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent embedded C programming skill.
  • Knowledge on IEEE 802.11 PHY/RF requirements.
  • Knowledge on radio calibrations and optimizations.
  • Hands-on experience in using RF test equipment.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and willing to pursue investigations to conclusion.
  • Experience in Customer Issue investigation and engagement.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi 802.11 protocols or similar protocols.
  • Familiarity with wireless radio technologies and characterization testing with radio test equipment (spectrum analyzer, radio communication test set, etc.).
  • Competent in Python, Matlab, Perl scripts, especially within a test environment.
  • Understanding RF schematics and PCB design.
  • Familiarity with test environments, tracking and revision control systems (e.g. Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence and Git)

Education: B.E or B.Tech or M.Tech in ECE from a reputed institute

Experience: 3 - 6 years of experience in developing Radio Firmware for Wireless Consumer Product.
