About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of Snowflake architecture, data warehousing best practices, and cloud platform integration (primarily AWS). This role involves designing, building, and maintaining complex data warehouse solutions to support advanced analytics and BI reporting for enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data warehouse solutions on Snowflake.

- Develop complex SQL queries, procedures, and views to support data transformation and reporting requirements.

- Work with Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, and Tasks to automate data pipelines.

- Build logical and physical data models in Snowflake based on evolving business needs.

- Define and implement security controls : roles, privileges, user access, and security groups.

- Size and optimize Snowflake Virtual Warehouses based on workload performance.

- Extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple structured/unstructured sources including XML, JSON, and CSV.

- Administer Snowflake accounts, monitor performance, and handle troubleshooting activities.

- Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to design effective data models and deliver reliable data solutions.

- Document data pipeline workflows, architecture decisions, and operational runbooks.

- Integrate Snowflake with tools like Matillion and/or other data integration platforms.

- Implement CI/CD practices using GIT and automation pipelines for deployment.

- Drive data quality, reliability, and performance tuning initiatives.

Must-Have Qualifications & Skills

- 8+ years of experience in ETL development and Business Intelligence.

- Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on experience with Snowflake platform.

- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL.

- Experience in Python and PySpark scripting for data manipulation.

- Expertise in building and managing cloud-based data warehouses (AWS preferred).

- Experience with large data volumes and performance optimization techniques.

- Hands-on with data integration tools such as Matillion.

- Working knowledge of source control (GIT), and CI/CD pipeline practices.

- Strong technical writing and communication Skills

- SnowPro Certification or equivalent Snowflake credentials.

- Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Datastage, or Talend.

- Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Data modeling experience supporting downstream BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

- Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and lineage tracking tools.
