Job description & requirements :

We are seeking a senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer who excels at designing high-performance queries, optimizing large data sets, and modernizing Oracle schemas. You will craft complex PL/SQL solutions, refactor legacy code, and collaborate with data architects and application teams to ensure scalability and accuracy across mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Advanced Query Design & Optimization :

- Write and tune sophisticated PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions for analytics and batch processing. Compare IN versus EXISTS, leverage indexing and partitioning, and interpret AWR/ASH insights to reduce execution time.

Regular Expression & CLOB Handling :

- Employ REGEXP functions on CLOB columns and devise work-arounds where native support is limited.

- Parse unstructured text, extract insights, and populate structured tables.

Schema Redesign & Data Modeling :

- Refactor schemas to support high-volume workloads; introduce partitioning, compression, and effective PK/FK strategies. Implement data-type best practices (e.g., NCHAR for multilingual storage) and manage internationalized content.

Data Transformation & ETL Logic :

- Populate and sync columns via efficient INSERT / UPDATE operations, ensuring transactional integrity.

- Develop queries that calculate metrics (e.g., weekly login counts) to power business dashboards.

Multilingual & Large-Volume Data Management :

- Detect non-ASCII/Unicode characters, ensure correct encoding, and streamline bulk-load processes.

Documentation & Peer Collaboration :

- Create runbooks, tuning guidelines, and ER diagrams; conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for analysts and developers.

- Provide code reviews and mentor team members on Oracle best practices.

Required Qualifications :

- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development in enterprise environments.

- Expertise in query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance diagnostics (Explain Plan, AWR/ASH).

- Experience working with CLOB data, regular expressions, and multilingual data types (NCHAR/NVARCHAR2).

- Proven ability to redesign schemas for scalability and write complex analytical SQL.

- Strong problem-solving skills and clear written/verbal communication in cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and data-guard concepts.

- Knowledge of Big Data or heterogeneous database environments (PostgreSQL, NoSQL).

- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
