Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Automation Architect 1 to join our team. This position requires an expert in test automation with a strong background in Python, Selenium, ROBOT Framework, and an in-depth understanding of L2/L3 network protocols. As an Automation Architect, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing automation frameworks, strategies, and tools that enable high-quality testing and validation of complex networking systems and protocols.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation development and a proven track record in designing scalable, maintainable automation frameworks for networking devices and protocols. You will play a key role in leading and mentoring a team of automation engineers while ensuring that best practices are followed to optimize the testing process.

Key Responsibilities:Architect Automation Solutions:

Design, architect, and implement scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Python, Selenium, and ROBOT Framework.

Define and implement best practices for test automation and automation architecture across various projects.

Lead the creation of end-to-end automated testing solutions that cover functional, performance, and regression testing of network protocols and systems.

Network Protocol Testing:

Work with network engineers to design automated tests for L2/L3 protocols, including OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, BFD, VRRP, LLDP, DHCP, RSTP, WDM, OpenROADM, and Transponder testing.

Create high-level test architectures and strategy for validating network protocol behaviors in various real-world scenarios.

Ensure the robustness and scalability of the automated tests for large-scale and complex network environments.

Leadership & Mentoring:

Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers to ensure high standards for code quality, testing, and project delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., network engineers, developers, QA, and product managers) to define test strategies and automation requirements.

Guide the team in building automation frameworks and efficient test cases for multiple products and features.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

Drive improvements in test automation practices and processes, with a focus on increasing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve the automation and testing lifecycle.

Proactively identify areas for process improvement, automation, and scaling opportunities.

Test Execution & Reporting:

Oversee the execution of automated tests, ensuring proper reporting and analysis of results.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation scripts and test failures.

Generate detailed reports and dashboards to provide clear insights into test coverage, quality, and performance.

Required Skills and Experience:Technical Expertise:

Strong expertise in Python programming for automation, scripting, and test development.

Deep experience with Selenium WebDriver and ROBOT Framework for creating automated tests and frameworks.

In-depth knowledge of L2/L3 network protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, BFD, VRRP, LLDP, DHCP, RSTP, WDM, OpenROADM, and Transponder testing.

Strong background in network engineering, with a solid understanding of networking concepts, troubleshooting, and validation techniques.

Experience with network traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) and understanding network protocol behavior.

Experience:

10-19+ years of hands-on experience in test automation, Python development, and network protocol testing.

Proven track record of designing and implementing complex automation frameworks at scale.

Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and integration of automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.

Experience in leading teams and driving the adoption of automation best practices in large organizations.

Tools & Technologies:

Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, ROBOT Framework, and other Python-based testing libraries.

Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, and other version control and CI/CD tools.

Experience working with virtualized and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, command-line tools, and automation scripting.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and influence decision-making.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent in networking or test automation.

Experience with SDN, NFV, and advanced networking technologies.

Knowledge of performance testing and network load generation tools.

Experience with virtualization technologies and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.
