Job Purpose:
- Royal Enfield seeks to enable a safe and seamless connected experience for every rider by thoughtfully integrating their digital worlds into the vehicle technology ecosystem.
- As part of this role you'll be at the forefront of automotive technology, ensuring our motorcycles and riders get the simple, distraction free and safest way to stay connected, productive and engaged.
- You'll proactively focus on identify gaps and potential issues, drive solutions and then scale these solutions to our entire vehicle line.
Position Overview:
Location: Chennai.
Position Title: Product Manager Smart Products.
Reports to: Information Technology Functional Head.
Function: Information Technology.
What you'll do:
- Gathering information from multiple sources and critically evaluating it, reconciling conflicts, disseminating high-level information into details and distinguishing user requests from their true needs.
- Driving and challenging the presumptions of business units on how will they successfully execute their plans.
- Interpreting business needs of customers and translating them into the application and operational requirement with the help of strong analytical and product management skills.
- Analyzing tradeoffs between usability and performance needs by teaming up with developers and subject matter experts.
- Liaisoning between technology teams, support teams and business units.
- Serving as a channel between the internal-external customers and the software development team through which requirements flow.
- Communicating and collaborating proactively with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
- Delivering work products throughout the project life cycle.
- Analyzing information from surveys and workshops, task analysis, and business process description.
- Conferring with project managers to define concepts and using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems.
- Provide automotive technology expertise to both stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Drive technical input into the ideation, discovery, and scoping processes related to automotive infrastructure and systems.
- Work directly with stakeholders to develop, triage, debug and resolve bugs found during implementation.
- Manage the end to end delivery, integrations and post production operations.
- Acts as a fully integrated team member by participating in the daily scrums, response planning, incident reviews, and retrospective assessments.
- Engages with stakeholders to understand needs, priorities, and to capture requirements for operational needs.
- Communicates project and team status outside the team to stakeholders according to prioritized business goals and information needs.
- Communicates internally and externally to maintain and improve transparency with stakeholder.
What you'll bring:
Experience: 6-10 years of relevant industry experience on designing applications, products and services around IOT with around 3 years of EV experience.
Qualification: Degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical and Business management or equivalent.
Skills:
- Good interpersonal skill and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge on Android OS embedded software development experience.
- Experience of detailing and documenting use cases, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience on defining the product features, roadmap and delivery.
- Knowledge in any one of the following : Telematics Control Units or GPS, BLE Protocol and WIFI profiles.
- Knowledge on automotive systems and interface/bus architectures.
- Knowledge on Vehicle simulation (Vector) or hypervisor or other simulation tools and techniques.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Manage the team to deliver the work on time with high quality.
- Passion to explore the new concepts and thirst to learn new skills.
