A Day in the Life

As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test strategies and plans to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior testers, and drive continuous improvement in test processes.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned :

Design, implement, and maintain manual test cases for software applications. Develop test plans, test scripts, and test data for functional, integration, and regression testing. Collaborate with software developers and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Identify, document, and track defects, work with development teams for timely resolution. Lead and mentor junior test engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise. Continuously improve testing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in reviews and ensure best practices in software quality. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO for medical devices).

Required knowledge and experience:

8+ years of experience in software testing. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with defect tracking and test management tools. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Python scripting for automation. Experience in testing software for medical devices or regulated industries. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. ISTQB or similar certification.
Education: Required: - B. E or B. Tech in Computer Sciences, Electronics or Electrical Engineer. Preferred: - M. E or M. Tech in Computer Sciences, Electronics or Electrical Engineer.
