Play AI is on the hunt for an Android Engineer to build the companion app for our Mad Rims AI-powered smart glasses. If you’re excited to ship ambitious features in Kotlin/Compose—and love getting BLE, CameraX, and background services just right—reach out at CAREERS@PLAYAI.NETWORK with a short note on why you’re a fit and a link to your GitHub or apps on Play Store.The ideal candidate: Action-oriented, collaborative, creative, strong problem solver, adaptable, confident.Your responsibilities:Own Android app architecture and UX end-to-end (Jetpack Compose, Material 3).Implement Bluetooth LE (GATT), device pairing, OTA triggers, and low-latency data flows.Build camera features (CameraX), audio I/O, foreground services, and offline resiliency (WorkManager).Integrate secure networking (Retrofit/OkHttp), analytics/crash reporting, and CI/CD.Partner with Product, Design, Backend, and Firmware to ship high-quality releases.Qualifications:2–6 years of Android experience with Kotlin, Coroutines/Flow, and Jetpack libraries.Hands-on with Compose, Hilt/Dagger, Room, FCM, CameraX, BLE.Strong grasp of app security (Keystore, certificate pinning), performance, and testing (JUnit/MockK/Espresso).Shipped at least one production app at scale; wearables or hardware integration is a big plus.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
