Description :Key Responsibilities :- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications using Micro Focus development environments (Enterprise Server, Visual COBOL, or Enterprise Developer).- Lead and execute application modernization and migration projects from legacy mainframe to distributed systems.- Perform batch processing, file handling, and application debugging using Micro Focus utilities and testing tools.- Integrate applications with databases such as DB2, SQL Server, or Oracle.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirement analysis, code reviews, and system optimization.- Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices, version control, and deployment standards.- Support testing, UAT, and production rollout activities.Required Skills & Qualifications :- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.- 8+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL programming using Micro Focus environments.Strong experience with :- Micro Focus Enterprise Server / Enterprise Developer / Visual COBOL- Batch processing and file-based systems- Micro Focus testing and debugging tools- Good understanding of database integration (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle) and related middleware.- Familiarity with source control/versioning tools (Git, SVN) and build automation.- Experience in application migration, maintenance, and performance tuning projects (ref:hirist.tech)
