Cognizant - Network Engineer - Routing & Switching

Description :- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations, rack layouts, topologies, processes and procedures- Design, deploy, configure and administer the LAN ( Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls ) WAN and WLAN infrastructure and their supporting systems- Recommend upgrades, patches and equipments when needed to address potential security holes and vulnerabilities- Proactive monitoring of all network devices and links using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLAs- Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues- Understand and analyze the current network structure and share ideas on how to make the network more efficient- Work closely with team members to determine future network needs and plan for network changes- Create projects that are designed to either meet functional requirements or to address ongoing network failure issues- Interfacing with fellow team members to manage and assist problems- Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans- Require continuous learning and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies- Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements- Follow ITIL principles - Provide on-call and weekend support when necessary- Attend and actively participate in team meetings- Perform other duties as assigned (ref:hirist.tech)
