About the Role:

- We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Ecommerce Accountant to join our growing team.

- The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the accounting operations for our ecommerce platform(s), ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and providing insights into our ecommerce financial performance.

- You will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

- Prepare Daily, Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

- Provide detailed analysis and reports on sales, revenue, expenses, and margins for ecommerce operations.

Transaction Management:

- Oversee the reconciliation of ecommerce transactions across platforms (e.

- , Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart etc).

- Manage invoicing, collections, and accounts payable/receivable for ecommerce sales.

- Track and reconcile ecommerce-related inventory, including purchase orders, returns, and stock adjustments.

Sales Tax Compliance:

- Manage sales tax calculations and reporting, ensuring compliance with local, state, and international tax regulations.

- Coordinate and submit sales tax filings, along with managing any audits or inquiries.

Month-End & Year-End Close:

- Assist with the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Prepare and file all necessary reports for audit and tax purposes.

Internal Controls:

- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g , sales, operations, marketing) to streamline financial processes and ensure proper recording of transactions.

Payment Processing & Gateway Management:

- Monitor and reconcile payments and refunds across multiple ecommerce platforms and payment gateways.

- Investigate discrepancies in payment records and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Profitability & Cash Flow Management:

- Analyze ecommerce financial performance and provide insights on profitability, margin improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.

- Manage cash flow related to ecommerce transactions, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and growth.

Software & System Management:

- Utilize accounting software and ecommerce platforms (e.g, Shopify, WooCommerce) for financial tracking and reporting.

- Work with the IT team to integrate accounting software with ecommerce platforms and ensure seamless data flow.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).

Experience:.

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to ecommerce or retail industries.

- Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and payment processing systems.

- Experience with financial software (e.g, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Skills & Abilities:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Familiarity with tax laws and ecommerce-specific financial regulations.

- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
