To learn more about our work and global impact, please visitdar.com .Role Overview The Airport Infrastructure Design Engineer is responsible for the detailed design ofairfield and landside infrastructureincludingrunways, taxiways, aprons, aircraft stands, roads, and parking facilities . The role focuses ongeometric design, grading, earthworks, signing & marking, simulation, and BIM integrationto produce accurate and standards-compliant design packages. The engineer ensures effectivecoordination with other engineering disciplines(drainage, utilities, fueling) to deliver optimized and safe designs.Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering Preparedetailed geometric designsfor runways, taxiways, aprons, stands, airside roads, access roads, and parking layouts. Developgrading plans, cut-and-fill calculations, and earthworks balancefor airside and landside areas. Produce Design drawings andBoQs (Bills of Quantities)extracted fromBIM models Designairfield and landside signing & marking layoutsin accordance with standards( ICAO/FAA/local standards) Supportstand and gate design optimization , ensuring safe aircraft operations and adequate integration of fueling pits, ground power, pre-conditioned air (PCA), and GSE routes. Simulation & Modeling UseAviPLANfor aircraft movement simulation, apron/stand clearance checks, and taxiway layout validation. ConductGSE (Ground Support Equipment) simulationsto optimize apron operations and gate service layouts. ApplyBIM tools(Navisworks, Civil 3D) for 3D coordination, clash detection, and multi-discipline integration. Codes, Standards & Compliance Applyinternational aviation and roads design standards and codes(ICAO, FAA, EASA, IATA, AASHTO…) directly in the design process. Ensure compliance with safety areas, separation distances, obstacle clearance, and marking/signing requirements.Qualifications Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or equivalent. Specialized training inairport/transportation design softwareis an asset. Experience 4 plus years of experience inairport or transportation infrastructure design . Proven track record ingeometric design of airside (runways, taxiways, aprons, stands) and landside (roads, parking) infrastructure . Experience withsigning & marking design , grading, BoQ preparation, and simulation. Strong background inmultidisciplinary coordinationwith drainage, utilities, and fueling systems. Skills & Competencies Proficiency inAutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, BIM (Navisworks), AutoTURN Strong knowledge ofinternational aviation and road design standards (ICAO, FAA, EASA, IATA, and AASHTO design standards ) Ability toapply codes and standards directly in design solutions . Solid understanding ofaircraft operational envelopes, turning radii, and clearance requirements .
