This role at Airblack is a key role and grows into a CFO or Business Head in the future, as per the candidate's aspiration. You will partner with leadership to drive key business & P&L decisions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of financial governance, compliance, and strategic decision-making. You'll oversee all financial operations, from accounting and taxation to investor management, and drive process improvements that enable Airblack's continued growth as India's largest online vocational academy. What would you be doing?

As a Manager, Bizfin you'd be responsible for:

Business Finance & Strategy

  • Partner with leadership to drive key P&L initiatives and measure effectiveness
  • Develop and own the Annual Operating Plan of the company

Financial Strategy & Governance

  • Ensuring SOPs are maintained across all financial dimensions, including accounting, taxation, compliance, secretarial and foreign exchange controls, receivables, payables, and financial operations.
  • Establish & monitor internal controls and procedures to ensure effective protection of the company assets & value.

Financial Reporting

  • Improving financial systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely storage and reporting of financial data.
  • Ensuring timely availability of financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and MIS for data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyzing and providing insights into changes in balance sheet accounts, delivering monthly financial reviews in collaboration with business heads.

Compliance and Audit Management

  • Overseeing process setup and adherence to accounting, taxation, and legal frameworks.
  • Managing compliance, secretarial matters, and statutory & audits in a timely manner.
  • Handling relationships with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, legal advisors, and company secretary and CA.

Investor Relations

  • Assisting founders with investor relations and board meeting preparations.
  • Preparing annual budgets, analyzing variances, and recommending corrective actions

What makes you a suitable candidate?

We would love to hear from you if you meet the qualifications below:

  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Controllership functions.
  • CA/CPA/ACCA qualification required, with a bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience working with early-stage startups, MBB, Big 4 or EdTech companies is a plus
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting methods and proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where change is constant.
  • Proven ability to design scalable and efficient financial systems and processes.
  • Strong team management and mentorship skills
  • Process orientation with the ability to design, implement, and manage work streams efficiently
