The QC Head will be responsible for leading the Quality Control function in the refractory division, ensuring all raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet company standards and customer requirements. The role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with quality certifications, driving continuous improvement, and liaising with production, R&D, and customers for quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Oversee and manage all QC operations related to raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

  • Establish and maintain quality standards in line with IS, ASTM, or international specifications.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for customer complaints and implement corrective actions.

  1. Testing & Laboratory Management

  • Supervise laboratory testing of raw materials and products (physical, chemical, thermal, etc.).

  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.

  • Develop new testing procedures to enhance quality control.

  1. Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead, mentor, and train the QC team for effective performance.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  1. Process & Product Quality

  • Monitor process parameters to ensure consistency in product quality.

  • Collaborate with Production and R&D teams for process improvement and new product development.

  • Approve/reject materials and finished products as per quality norms.

  1. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, BIS, and other relevant certifications.

  • Maintain all QC-related documentation, reports, and records for audits.

  • Liaise with external agencies, customers, and certification bodies for inspections and audits.

  1. Customer & Market Support

  • Provide technical support to customers regarding product performance and application.

  • Investigate customer feedback/complaints and ensure timely resolution.



Requirements Candidate Requirements:
  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field.

  • 10–15 years of experience in refractory/ceramics industry with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of refractory raw materials, testing methods, and industry standards.

  • Hands-on experience in QC labs, process audits, and customer complaint handling.

  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
