Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong Product Engineering Architect – Medical Imaging to lead the design and delivery of cloud-based imaging solutions for CitiusTech's medical imaging customers. The ideal candidate should bring deep experience in Java/.NET platforms, medical imaging standards and workflows, and cloud-native architectures using AWS, Azure, or GCP. This role requires strong engineering and architecture skills, coupled with a solid understanding of imaging domain needs such as PACS, VNA, and diagnostic viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture and Engineering Leadership

• Architect and lead the development of enterprise-grade imaging platforms such as PACS, VNA, Viewers (2D/3D), and image management systems
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and regulatory-compliant architectures using cloud-native services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Translate clinical and imaging workflow requirements into modular and reusable architecture patterns
• Define best practices for performance, storage, rendering, and real-time streaming of diagnostic images
• Guide adoption of standards including DICOM, HL7, FHIR, WADO-RS, and IHE profiles (XDS, XDS-I, XCA-I)

Product Delivery Support

• Collaborate with product managers, solution teams, and engineering leads to drive technical design across project phases
• Support delivery teams through technical oversight, code and architecture reviews, and problem resolution
• Ensure imaging solutions meet HIPAA, FDA Class II/III, and other applicable healthcare regulatory standards
• Mentor engineering teams on cloud-native development, DevSecOps, and best practices in imaging platforms

Customer and Innovation Engagement

• Partner with client stakeholders to design and evolve their imaging platform architecture and modernization plans
• Lead architectural discussions during RFPs, proposals, assessments, and workshops
• Explore emerging technologies such as AI/ML in imaging, edge rendering, and cloud migration for legacy PACS
• Develop proofs-of-concept, reference architectures, and accelerators for CitiusTech's imaging portfolio

Required Skills and Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise application development and architecture
• 5+ years of experience in medical imaging solution development (PACS, VNA, or diagnostic Viewers)
• Strong hands-on experience in Java (Spring Boot) and/or .NET Core / C#
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP (at least one cloud is mandatory)
• Proficient in DICOM, HL7, FHIR, IHE profiles, and WADO-RS for imaging data and workflow interoperability
• Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development
• Familiarity with image rendering techniques (e.g., WebGL, GPU-based) and viewing frameworks
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, API security, and cloud-based monitoring tools
• Understanding of regulated product development processes (e.g., FDA, CE) in the medical device/software domain

Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (BE, BTech, MTech)
• Certifications in cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and/or imaging standards preferred
