About Amity Institute of International Studies (AIIS)
The Amity Institute of International Studies (AIIS) was established with the sole objective of contributing prominently to the existing knowledge domain in the field of International Relations. By introducing the programme even at under-graduate level, AIIS has become the first Institute in India to initiate International Relations at such levels.
Benchmarked with eminent institutions of the country such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, India; New Castle University, Australia; University of Michigan, US; Pondicherry University, India, the courses offered at AIIS are of international standard and thus aim to equip students with trainings to get absorbed in nationally and internationally acclaimed institutions, universities, think tanks and industries. Signing of MoUs with institutions such as National Maritime Foundation (NMF); United Services Institute (USI); Jinan University, China; University of Warsaw, Poland; Plymouth University, UK and others in pipeline has not only enriched our curriculum but has also made our courses more inclusive and diverse in nature.
Purpose
AIIS aims to cultivate future leaders and diplomats in the domains of foreign and public and international studies which entails multi-disciplinarity. By incorporating innovative pedagogy for teaching, research, training, and consulting in the allied fields. The purpose of the institution is to achieve the following, among others:
- Offer academic programmes at UG, PG and Doctoral level.
- We also offer one-year course of PG Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies.
- To include multi-disciplinarity post the implementation of NEP, AIIS also offers a four-year honours research programme at under-graduate level.
- Organise relevant special lectures, round table discussions, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Organise student-initiated Intra-Model United Nations, IR Dialogues, AIIS Blog, Newsletters (monthly): Parmanu, Public Diplomacy, Samudra Sambandh, South Asia Gazette; AIIS Weekly, Club Activities, Matrix Gaming exercises as part of extra-curricular activities for better understanding of current international phenomenon through profound indulgence by the students.
