With a lean team of 9, we ship delightful, ai based, data-driven products—from habit trackers and child-care tools to hobbyist utilities for coin collectors, gardeners, and more.Role OverviewWe’re hiring a Node.js Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the backend infrastructure powering our apps. You’ll own services end-to-end, collaborate closely with the founder/designers, and help shape our technical direction.What You’ll Do- Design and implement high-quality backend architecture and microservices - Build secure, well-documented APIs and data models - Set up and manage cloud infrastructure (servers, EC2, S3, networking, CI/CD) - Create AI workflows (image-based identification, AI chat) with production pipelines - Choose the tech stack and lead key architectural decisions - Optimize performance, reliability, and cost; monitor and debug in production - Collaborate cross-functionally to translate product requirements into technical specs - Deploy on AWS/GCP and manage cloud resources effectively - Contribute to hiring and team buildingRequirements- 3+ years of backend engineering experience - Strong hands-on Node.js with production systems - Solid Basics with cloud & DevOps: AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), basic networking, observability - Understanding of databases (MongoDB or relational) and schema/design trade-offs - Familiar with service design principles, APIs, and mobile-app backends - Strong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills - Nice to have: Java experience, GCP/AWS exposure, prior freelancing/startup experienceBenefits- Zero-to-One impact and meaningful ownership (competitive salary + ESOPs) - Flexible/remote-friendly work environment - Health insurance and other perks - Professional growth in a fast-moving, collaborative team-If you’re excited to build life changing products that help people live better, we’d love to hear from you.
