Project Manager - Cloud FinOps Project

  • 12 months contract 12 months extension option
  • Location – ACT
  • Australian Citizens with Baseline clearance

Infinite Consulting is seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager for a Cloud FinOps Project for our esteemed large Federal Government Client. The initial contract is for 12 months with 12 months extension option

About the role:

As the Project Manager you will manage a cloud governance FinOps project, which will include enhancing and implementing new cloud cost reporting, undertaking cloud optimisation assessment activities, developing a FinOps framework, and robust cloud policy and cloud strategy.

Duties for this role will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Writing minutes, briefing documents, business cases, project reports for the senior executive staff, committees and project boards.
  • Ensuring successful management and delivery of the project while managing risks, budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Undertaking procurement evaluations activities and recruitment activities, as required.
  • Working with the Cloud Governance section, and third-party vendor, facilitate, organise workshops (cloud FinOps, policy and strategy), develop relevant reports, and provide training to large groups of staff, and
  • Developing change communication, including training material, intranet pages.

Role specific requirements:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional division project activities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Extensive project management experience working in large-scale organisations, or Australian Government environments.
  • Excellent understanding of FinOps best practice, relevant Australian Government legislation and supporting policies, and their applicability to cloud environments.
  • Experience in developing high quality project documentation and presenting project updates for key stakeholders, committees/boards, and senior executive.
  • Experience in providing training to large groups of staff, developing change communication, including training and guidance material.
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale FinOps cloud projects – Highly desirable.
