Role Description: The position of Head of Data Management is an influential leadership role, overseeing data operations to ensure that database and data-related services within CAMS are executed efficiently, with timely and high-quality deliverables. This is a thought leadership role within Data Operations, requiring a strong understanding of financial processes-preferably within the mutual fund industry-along with experience in regulatory activities and key statistical reporting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational, organizational, and technical leadership. The Head of Data Management will direct, oversee, and coordinate all activities, deliverables, and resources within their respective group. They will ensure that KPIs are met and work closely with Operations Heads, the Application Development team (SSPL), and the Product Management team (PMG) on resourcing, metrics, and budgeting. The role demands seamless collaboration with partner groups and active leadership in initiatives that establish and maintain CAMS Data Management as best-in-class within the industry. Role & Responsibilities:- Selects, recruits, develops, manages, motivates, coaches, and appraises the performance of direct reports to ensure high-quality outcomes across the Data Management Group.- Drives productivity and efficiency initiatives to meet CAMS' strategic imperatives and performance targets.- Actively ensures that team metrics are in place and consistently met or exceeded, taking corrective action when necessary.- Represents Financial Data Management in the requirements gathering, selection, and evaluation of computer systems (hardware and software) related to Data Management activities.- As a member of the Data Management Leadership Team, actively participates in all aspects of Data Management Operations and contributes to future strategies and process improvements.- Supports the continuous development of the Data Management organization by fostering innovation, implementing effective solutions, and promoting knowledge sharing across CAMS.- Acts as an enterprise-wide leader.- Understands regulatory requirements and ensures the group remains audit-ready at all times.- Ensures team compliance with time-tracking tools to support capacity forecasting and productivity analysis.- Builds and nurtures a strong team culture rooted in technical excellence, high performance, and alignment with CAMS' values and behaviors.- Identifies training needs and supports the development of programs (technical, business, and soft skills) for Data Management team members.- Ensures training is conducted and properly documented.- Leads and supports special projects and initiatives aimed at driving functional excellence.- Ensures high-quality communication and information flow of all deliverables to stakeholders, while proactively mitigating and managing risks. Preferred Qualifications:- Engineering graduate or postgraduate, preferably in Computer Science.- Proven leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.- Excellent understanding of the Banking, Insurance, and Mutual Fund markets.- Ability to anticipate challenges and risks, and proactively suggest and implement solutions.- Capable of working under pressure, demonstrating agility through effective and innovative team leadership.- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to operate effectively in a global environment.- Skilled in influencing and communicating across functions and with external stakeholders.- Strong expertise in Oracle databases, open-source databases, and NoSQL databases.- Extensive experience with both cloud and on-premises systems.- Exposure to and experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).- Prior experience managing large-scale databases (>1 PB) in production environments.- Prior experience in managing production support operations.- Solid understanding of ITIL processes.- Experience in data warehousing and analytics.- Experience in database migration across platforms.- Ideally, 15+ years of experience in the financial industry, with at least 10 years in a leadership role focused on data management.
