Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled WiFi Planning & Optimization Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing wireless networks to ensure robust, high-performance, and reliable WiFi connectivity. This role involves working closely with various teams to diagnose and resolve complex wireless networking issues, improving user experience, and staying ahead of emerging technologies and trends in the wireless industry.


Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

  • Design and deploy WiFi networks, ensuring optimal coverage, capacity, and performance.
  • Perform site surveys and RF planning to determine the best placement of access points (APs).
  • Configure and deploy wireless networking equipment, including APs, controllers, and related hardware.


Optimization and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor and analyze WiFi network performance using various tools and techniques.
  • Identify and resolve interference, coverage gaps, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Optimize network settings, including channel allocation, power levels, and security configurations.


Maintenance and Support:

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for WiFi networks, including firmware updates and hardware replacements.
  • Assist in the development of troubleshooting guides and training materials for IT support staff.
  • Respond to and resolve network-related issues and service tickets promptly.


Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work closely with IT, network engineers, and other stakeholders to align WiFi performance with business needs.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and optimization processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices in wireless networking.


Performance Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular performance assessments and generate reports on network health and user experience.
  • Utilize data analytics to predict and address potential issues proactively.
  • Recommend and implement improvements based on analysis and user feedback.


Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.


Technical Skills:

  • Extensive experience with WiFi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and protocols.
  • Proficiency in wireless networking tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet, NetSpot, ibWave).
  • Solid understanding of RF principles, wireless security protocols, and network troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with enterprise WiFi solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, Meraki etc.


Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, CCNP Wireless, or equivalent are highly desirable.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing WiFi networks.
  • Proven track record of successfully resolving complex wireless networking issues.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.


Working Conditions:

  • Position based in RCP, Navi Mumbai.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site surveys and deployments.
  • Availability for on-call support as needed.
