Role & Responsibilities

1. Safety & Health at units


• Implementation of Pidilite EHS Management Systems/PLSR's.


• Assist in preparing and update site EHS procedures in collaboration with Cluster EHS Manager.


• Conduct Risk Assessments at the units including identification of Critical EHS Risks and controls to be put in place.


• Support Projects related to Infrastructure Upgradation wrt. to EHS procedure implementation.


• Implement system effectively for Reporting of Accident incident, reporting investigation.


• Track and Support closure of corrective and preventive action and ensure Horizontal Deployment of Corrective and Preventive Actions across the unit.


• Support implementation of the Contractor Safety Management program. Monitor effectiveness of the program.


• Support implementation of Basic Safety Systems like Permit to Work, LOTOTO, Management of Change, Chemical Safety etc. Conduct periodic operational audits for monitoring effectiveness and continual improvement.


• Conduct regular Industrial Hygiene monitoring etc.


• Track, review, and support for conducting periodic Health Surveillance of employees at units.

2. Fire Safety at units


• Prepare and update On Site Emergency Plan for the units based on EHS risks under cluster Chief's guidance.


• Conduct periodic emergency preparedness drills, monitor their effectiveness, and ensure closure of observations.


• Track and support the units to ensure that Fire Protection systems are always kept in operational readiness.

3. Inspections and Audits of units


• Assist in planning and monitoring of EHS Inspections of Critical Risk Areas of the site, and ensure necessary controls are effectively implemented.


• Ensure compliance to system of Statutory and Non-Statutory Inspections are effectively implemented.


• Support conducting Internal and External Audits as per plan, track closure of all findings, and their effective and timely closure.

4. Environment Management at units


• Ensure monitoring and track compliance of Environment Parameters related to Air water and waste.


• Assist in identification of significant Environmental Risks at units.


• Support implementation of system for effective maintenance and functioning of Pollution Control Equipment.


• Track and Support compliance to requirements related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems and their documentation.

5. Statutory compliance at units


• Support the Unit Head in compliance to applicable statutory licenses and their conditions.


• Track, review and support in maintaining validity status of statutory licenses, and ensure their timely renewal.


• Track, review and support in ensuring that all mandatory statutory returns are submitted in time.


• Assist to ensure mandatory Legal Compliance logging through Legacies.


• Prepare timely reports of EHS Performance and reporting of the unit.


• Track and assist in the timely closure of observations, submission of correspondence related to statutory visits, communications etc.

6. Sustainability initiatives at units


• Support developing of sustainability plans for the unit in collaboration with Cluster EHS Manager/Corporate EHS team.


• Assist in undertaking initiatives for the improvement in Sustainability Performance through approach of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.


• Track, review, and support Sustainability KPI's for reduction in Waste, Water, Energy, etc.

7. People


• Develop plans to create EHS awareness at the unit by undertaking learning initiatives.


• Track, review and support the unit in reporting of Unsafe Act/Unsafe Condition/Near Miss/BBS, and their effective closure.


• Assist in developing system of identifying the training needs and capability building at the units commensurate to the EHS Risks in collaboration with the Cluster EHS Manager/Corporate EHS team.


• Support units for conducting Safety Committee Meetings, awareness campaigns, theme based safety programs, wellness programs, open houses, Safety Suggestion scheme, Safety Week, Fire and Environment Week etc.
