The role involves preparing, reviewing, and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with CRA regulations, and supporting clients or internal teams with tax planning, audits, and financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & FilingPrepare and file corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust (T3) tax returns.Prepare GST/HST, PST, payroll remittances, and annual information returns (T4, T5).Perform year-end tax adjustments and reconciliations.Tax Analysis & ComplianceEnsure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and deadlines.Research and interpret Canadian Income Tax Act guidelines for accurate tax treatment.Respond to CRA queries, notices, and support during tax audits.Planning & AdvisoryProvide strategic tax planning to minimize tax liabilities.Advise on tax impacts related to business changes, transactions, or investments.Support clients or internal teams with budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making.Documentation & ReportingMaintain organized tax records and supporting documentation.Prepare working papers and schedules for review by senior accountants or partners.Collaborate with finance teams during monthly and annual closing activities.
