About the Role:We are seeking an Accounting Specialist with experience in U.S. accounting principles and reconciliation to support our U.S.-based finance team from our Mumbai office. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards, and managing client trust accounts (IOLTA). This position offers exposure to international accounting practices in a legal firm environment, making it ideal for professionals looking to advance their global accounting career.Job Responsibilities:Support the U.S. finance team by applying knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and compliance, particularly related to IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts).Review, verify, and reconcile incoming and outgoing financial transactions using QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).Save and organize all deposit and wire transaction records promptly in NetDocuments.Analyze aged accounts, identify discrepancies, and maintain transparent audit trails.Support monthly reconciliations, ensuring alignment between bank records and internal ledgers.Maintain up-to-date documentation for case budgets and vendor records.Assist with audit preparation, documentation, and ad-hoc financial reports as needed.Collaborate closely with the global accounting team to ensure compliance and accuracy.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.Relevant certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Diploma in Accounting are a plus but not mandatory. 3–6 years of hands-on accounting experience with U.S. clients or international accounting exposure.Skills and Abilities:Experience in U.S. accounting principles and compliance standards, particularly regarding IOLTA accounts.Highly efficient with QuickBooks Desktop and online and document management systemsPossess excellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to QA and troubleshoot dataAbility to prioritize tasks and projects based on departmental needsHighly self-motivated, self-starter with a critical thinking mindsetExcellent interpersonal, verbal, attention to detail, and written communication skillsDependable, organized, detailed-oriented, great attitude and team player
