Job Description : Head of AccountsSterling Oil & Gas - Lagos, NigeriaAbout the Role:Sterling Oil & Gas, Nigerias 3rd largest Oil Producer with 26,000 Nationals & 3,500 Indian Expats, is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Head of Accounts to lead multi-entity financial operations, ensure robust compliance, and drive financial excellence across our Oil & Gas value chain.This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional with deep expertise in accounting, reporting, taxation, and internal controls within Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Refinery / Power / Metals & Mining / EPC environments.Key Accounting & Reporting:- Lead end-to-end accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Intercompany).- Ensure accurate monthly/quarterly/year-end closing & financial statements (IFRS/GAAP).- Drive MIS reporting, variance analysis, and management dashboards.- Strengthen accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity.Compliance, Audit & Controls:- Ensure compliance with VAT/GST, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax & other regulatory requirements.- Lead statutory, internal & tax audits with zero major observations.- Establish and monitor Internal Financial Controls & SOPs.Working Capital & Cash Flow:- Manage banking, vendor payments, receivables, reconciliations & treasury operations.- Improve DSO/DPO, cash forecasting, and project cost controls.- Optimize inventory valuation & project accounting.Leadership & Stakeholder Management:- Lead, mentor & develop accounting teams across sites.- Collaborate with Projects, Operations, Procurement, HR & top leadership.- Drive a culture of performance, transparency & accountability.ERP, Systems & Process Excellence:- Drive automation and ERP/SAP efficiency.- Ensure strong system controls, data accuracy & process standardization.- Implement digital dashboards for real-time financial insights.Qualifications & Experience:- Chartered Accountant mandatory- 25-30 years of experience in Accounts, Finance, Controllership- Strong exposure to Oil & Gas / LNG / Petrochemical / Refinery / EPC / Power / Metals & Mining / Fertilizer- Expertise in IFRS/GAAP, Taxation, Audit & ERP (SAP/Oracle)- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management & communication skillsKey Attributes:- High integrity & financial discipline- Detail-oriented & process-driven- Strong analytical mindset- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines- Strategic thinking + hands-on execution capabilityExpat Perks & Benefits (for India Nigeria relocation):Compensation & Financial Benefits- Highly competitive USD-based salary- Annual performance bonus- Salary protection & tax structuring supportLiving & Lifestyle- Fully furnished expat accommodation- Food allowance / meal facilities- Company car + driver- Comprehensive medical insurance (self + family)Travel & Mobility- Bi-Annual home country trip - Work permit & visa processed by company- Airport pickup/drop & local mobility supportSafety & Security- Secure housing in expat zones - 247 security & emergency response- Local SIM, mobile allowance & support teamAdditional Perks- Learning & leadership development opportunities- Exposure to global Oil & Gas operations- Family support services for relocationInterested professionals may connect directly with:Shekar Tamutkar - Lead Talent AcquisitionCall/WhatsApp: +234-9059294421 / +91-8660035634 (ref:iimjobs.com)
