Job title- Lead - Materials

Location- Navi Mumbai (R&D)


Job purpose

Develop, process, and test materials used to create a range of products from LED lamps to Appliances, Fans etc.

Study the properties and structures of metals, ceramics, plastics, composites, nanomaterials and other substances to create new materials that meet certain mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements for the above products. In addition, develop new ways to use existing materials.


Job Responsibilities

  • She/he will have to handle a team of 5-6 members
  • Investigate materials required for making the products
  • Must have knowledge of testing materials
  • Run research projects, investigate Paint related issues, research plastic required in products
  • Plastic, metals, polymers, paper (packaging)
  • Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and managers as necessary
  • Prepare proposals and budgets, analyze labor costs, write reports, and perform other managerial tasks
  • Supervise the work of technologists, technicians, and other engineers and scientists
  • Design and direct the testing of processing procedures
  • Work with suppliers to specify and develop materials
  • Monitor how materials perform and evaluate how they deteriorate
  • Determine causes of product failure and develop ways of overcoming such failure
  • Shall be aware of Reliability lab equipment and various reliability tests of materials and electrical and electronic components
  • People with inventions or high innovation potential preferred


Person Specifications

Qualification: MTech in Material’s (Essential)

Experience- 10+ years Minimum

Experience: 9+ years experience from Automotive, Paint, Power equipment’s, Institutions which have materials LAB

  • MTech in Polymer Sc. and Eng./ Materials Science and Engineering
  • Able to make professional presentation
  • Team Handling experience
  • Should possess drive for results, problem solving skills, process approach, innovation mindset
  • Well network in technology oriented industry and the Academy
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, must be able to handle multiple projects and completing priorities and effectively accomplish objectives
