Job Summary
The HSE Officer (SABIC Approved) is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental
(HSE) programs and initiatives within SABIC projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with SABIC HSE
standards, industry regulations, and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
• HSE Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with SABIC HSE standards, local and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO
14001).
o Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-conformities.
o Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified issues.
• HSE Training and Awareness:
o Assist in the development and delivery of HSE training programs for project personnel.
o Promote a strong HSE culture within the project team.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting:
o Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent
recurrence.
o Prepare incident reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Emergency Preparedness:
o Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
o Assist in conducting emergency drills and exercises.
• Environmental Management:
o Support environmental management programs, including waste management, pollution control, and
environmental impact assessments.
o Assist in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
• Risk Assessment:
o Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation measures.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Technician (CST) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the industrial or petrochemical sector.
• Strong knowledge of SABIC HSE standards, industry regulations, and international best practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Additional Considerations
• The HSE Officer (SABIC Approved) may be required to work in various industrial environments, which may
involve physical demands and exposure to different working conditions.
• Travel to different SABIC project sites may be necessary.
