Position Summary:
The Senior Development Project Delivery Manager will oversee and manage the delivery of complex development projects from inception to completion. This role demands a robust technical background, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to coordinate and lead multiple cross-functional teams. The manager will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards while effectively handling any development-related issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Project Planning and Management:
● Develop comprehensive project plans detailing technical requirements, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
● Coordinate with technical leads to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
● Utilize project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project) to track and manage project progress.
2. Technical Leadership and Team Coordination:
● Lead and mentor multiple technical teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
● Assign technical tasks and responsibilities, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
● Facilitate regular technical team meetings to review progress, address issues, and ensure alignment.
3. Risk Management:
● Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
● Monitor technical risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
● Develop and maintain contingency plans for potential technical challenges.
4. Budget and Resource Management:
● Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of technical resources.
● Monitor project expenditures and report on financial performance related to technical aspects.
● Ensure technical resources are allocated effectively to meet project demands.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
● Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing technical updates on project status.
● Address technical concerns from stakeholders and ensure their technical requirements are met.
● Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
6. Quality Assurance and Technical Compliance:
● Ensure that all technical deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
● Implement technical quality control processes and conduct regular technical reviews.
● Coordinate with quality assurance teams to conduct testing and validation of technical solutions.
7. Continuous Improvement and Technical Innovation:
● Identify opportunities for technical process improvements and implement best practices.
● Conduct post-project reviews to identify technical lessons learned and areas for improvement.
● Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating relevant innovations into project management practices.
8. Handling Development Situations:
● Effectively manage and resolve any issues that arise during the development process, such as technical roadblocks, resource constraints, and stakeholder conflicts.
● Ensure that the project stays on track by quickly addressing and mitigating unforeseen challenges.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in technical project management, with a focus on software development projects.
● Mandatory Skills:
● Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and system architecture.
● Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and development frameworks.
● Excellent project management skills.
● Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading multiple teams.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
● Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project).
