Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced ETL Test Automation Engineer with 5-10 years of expertise to join our team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test strategies for validating complex ETL pipelines and data integration workflows. This role requires strong hands-on skills in various automation frameworks, deep understanding of data quality, and experience with technologies like Kafka, DB2, and AWS data services. Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement comprehensive automated test strategies for validating ETL pipelines and intricate data integration workflows.

- Develop robust automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks to validate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.

- Test data flows involving Kafka topics, ensuring data consistency and strict schema validation across producers and consumers.

- Validate data correctness and integrity between source systems (DB2) and various downstream targets (e.g., S3, Redshift).

- Perform thorough regression, performance, and functional testing of data-centric applications and APIs.

- Build and maintain reusable automation test cases and frameworks, ensuring alignment with DevOps principles and seamless integration into CI/CD pipelines.

- Collaborate closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and business analysts to define precise test coverage and quality metrics.

- Analyze test results, debug complex issues, and proactively identify data anomalies and inconsistencies.

- Efficiently manage test data and leverage mocks/stubs for downstream systems where applicable to ensure isolated and reliable testing.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5-10 years of experience in QA Engineering, with a strong focus on ETL/data warehouse testing.

- 6+ years of hands-on experience specifically in ETL/data warehouse testing.

- Practical experience with Apache Kafka, including topic validation, offset tracking, and schema evolution.

- Proficient in validating data pipelines and services on AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, or EMR).

- Strong database testing skills with DB2 and advanced SQL-based validation across large datasets.

- Solid experience with automation tools and frameworks like Pytest, JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, or custom scripting in Python.

- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git).

- Strong understanding of data quality, data lineage, and metadata validation principles.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across agile squads.

Nice To Have :

- Knowledge of data lake architecture and cloud-native ETL orchestration patterns.

- Experience using Docker or Kubernetes for setting up and managing test environments.

- Experience testing REST APIs and microservices that support data flows.
