As a Tawa Roti Maker, your main responsibility is to expertly prepare and cook Tawa Roti, a traditional Indian bread, using a tawa (griddle) or similar cooking equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of Tawa Roti, following established recipes and techniques.

Responsibilities:

1.    Tawa Roti Preparation:

  • Prepare dough for Tawa Roti by combining ingredients according to the recipe.
  • Divide the dough into portions and shape them into round balls.
  • Roll out the dough balls into thin, round rotis.


2.    Tawa Roti Cooking:

  • Heat the tawa or griddle to the appropriate temperature.
  • Place the rolled-out roti onto the hot surface and cook it until it puffs up and develops golden-brown spots.
  • Flip the roti and cook the other side until it is fully cooked.


3.    Timing and Temperature Management:

  • Monitor and control the cooking temperature to ensure consistent results.
  • Adjust cooking time based on the heat and thickness of the roti.


4.    Quality Control:

  • Inspect the cooked rotis for proper texture, puffing, and color.
  • Remove any undercooked or overcooked rotis and maintain quality standards.


5.    Equipment and Work Area Maintenance:

  • Clean and maintain the tawa or griddle, ensuring it is free from any residue or burnt particles.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, including the preparation and cooking tools.


6.    Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of rotis.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the kitchen supervisor or manager.


Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in making Tawa Roti or similar Indian bread is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Tawa Roti preparation techniques, including dough making and rolling.
  • Proficient in operating a tawa or griddle and controlling cooking temperatures.
  • Ability to maintain consistency in size, texture, and color of the rotis.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends
