Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Taxation Manager to oversee and manage the company’s direct and indirect tax matters in compliance with Indian taxation laws. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax planning, tax compliance, audits, and liaising with tax authorities. The role requires strong analytical skills, up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, and the ability to guide the company in minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


Tax Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax benefits and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Analyze business transactions to identify tax-saving opportunities within the legal framework.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct and indirect tax returns (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.).
  • Manage the tax compliance calendar and ensure deadlines are met for tax payments and returns.
  • Oversee compliance with corporate tax regulations, including income tax assessments and appeals.

Audit and Documentation:

  • Manage tax audits and assessments conducted by tax authorities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of tax-related records for audit and inspection purposes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for periodic audits.

Tax Reporting:

  • Prepare tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and tax disclosures for financial statements.
  • Report to senior management on tax risks, liabilities, and opportunities.

Tax Litigation:

  • Handle tax-related litigations and represent the company in front of tax authorities and tribunals.
  • Provide guidance in the preparation of submissions for tax appeals and disputes.

Liaison with Tax Authorities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant government tax authorities.
  • Coordinate responses to tax notices, investigations, and other inquiries from tax authorities.

Advisory & Updates:

  • Provide expert advice on Indian tax laws and regulatory updates that may impact the company.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, ensuring compliance and advising on necessary actions.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the internal tax team, ensuring they are up to date with the latest tax regulations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide tax guidance and support for various business projects.


Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification with a specialization in taxation.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Indian taxation, including GST, income tax, and corporate tax.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws, including GST, TDS, and transfer pricing regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with tax authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tax-related software and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
