Senior SEO Specialist (Healthcare)

Role Overview
The Senior SEO Specialist will lead all search engine optimization initiatives, focused on improving the hospital's online visibility, patient engagement, and trustworthiness in search results. This role demands an expert-level understanding of SEO, healthcare-specific search compliance, technical optimization, and the ability to craft strategies that align with both patient needs and search engine best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1.SEO Strategy Development & Execution
?Design and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy tailored to healthcare, targeting keywords relevant to hospital services, health conditions, and patient education.
?Conduct keyword research with a focus on patient intent, seasonal trends, and healthcare-specific search patterns.
2.Technical SEO & Website Optimization
?Oversee all aspects of technical SEO, including site architecture, schema markup, page load speed, mobile optimization, and structured data.
?Collaborate with web developers to ensure website health, implement SEO fixes, and improve core web vitals as per Google’s requirements.
3.Content Strategy & Optimization
?Develop content guidelines and collaborate with medical writers to produce compliant, engaging, and high-quality content.
?Implement on-page optimization techniques (title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking) to ensure each page ranks effectively for target keywords.
?Utilize expertise in E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) to ensure content meets Google’s quality guidelines for healthcare.
4.Local SEO Management
?Optimize for local search to increase visibility for hospital locations and services within the region, including managing Google My Business listings and implementing geo-targeted keywords.
?Use location-based schema and other local SEO tactics to enhance the hospital’s online presence in relevant geographic areas.
5.Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
?Monitor and analyze SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.
?Track core KPIs (organic traffic, rankings, CTR, conversion rates) and produce regular reports for leadership.
?Conduct ongoing SEO audits and competitive analyses, and apply insights to continually refine the SEO strategy.
6.Compliance & Risk Management
?Ensure SEO strategies and content adhere to healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA), respecting patient privacy and accuracy in health-related information.
?Stay up-to-date on algorithm updates and changes in Google’s quality standards to mitigate potential SEO risks.
7.Cross-Functional Collaboration
?Work closely with content, web development, and marketing teams to ensure SEO requirements are integrated into all digital projects.
?Train team members on SEO best practices, from keyword research to content optimization, fostering a collaborative approach to organic growth.
Qualifications
?Experience: 5-8 years of hands-on experience in SEO, with a minimum of 3 years focused on healthcare or another regulated industry.
?Technical Skills: Expertise in tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz.
?Advanced Knowledge in Technical SEO: Proficient in managing schema, page speed optimization, mobile-first indexing, crawl budgets, and handling JavaScript SEO if applicable.
?Content Expertise: Skilled in crafting and overseeing content strategies that satisfy both patient intent and SEO best practices, especially E-A-T for healthcare.
?Analytical Ability: Strong data analysis skills, able to interpret complex metrics and make data-driven decisions.
?Local SEO Knowledge: Proven success in implementing local SEO strategies for regional visibility.
