BIW-Design Engineer
BIW Engineer

Location:
Bangalore

Role:
Design and develop chassis components from initial concept to PPAP(Production Part Approval Process) and packaging of the car.

Responsibilities:
Should look into the homologation requirement of the entire car and its sub-systems.
Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including design, prototype builds, vehicle test, and production, Preparing BOM.
Evaluate different types of manufacturing methods for achieving the best combination of weight, attributes, and cost.
Work closely with stakeholders and attribute owners across the company (Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, etc.).

Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible.

Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs.

Must-Have Skills:

Software skills:

  • solid-works/ UG NX.
Should be able to work in different modules of cad software (solid modeling, sheet metal, surfacing, drawing, or drafting).
Should be able to manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, (sheet metal, casting, stamping, etc.).
Good knowledge of joining and fastening techniques (metal-metal, metal- composites).
Determine required tolerances using GD&T.
Good knowledge of homologation requirements (Crash Test etc.).
Knowledge of CAE software and NVH principles would be advantageous for B.E. / B-Tech / in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.

Flexibility to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with frequent prioritization adjustments.
Independent and Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
Willing to learn any new technologies required for the role.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
