Essential Functions

Responsible for technical management, operation and maintenance of the network infrastructureActs as Lead in Global and Regional infrastructure projectsPossesses and applies advanced knowledge of network-related processes and procedures to the completion of complex assignmentsInvestigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and performance issuesEvaluates, tests, and recommends specific network solutionsDesigns secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the enterpriseDefines network business requirements and implements effective global network strategiesImplementation and ongoing management of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, wan optimizers and load-balancersProvides ongoing information to management and peers regarding the general health of the environment, as well as enhancements and innovationsKeeps updated on industry trends and emerging technologies as applicable to PAREXEL.Keeps IT management abreast of any changes in the technologies which may impact business decisionsRequired to participate in an on-call rotationKey AccountabilitiesMaintains a reliable network infrastructure for all usersWorks to ensure maximum connectivity to essential systemsWorks closely with other IT Management and technical staff to evaluate and test network productsDefines, reviews, and maintains detailed hardware/software technical standards, especially related to installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of LAN/WAN systemsMonitors key system parameters to ensure optimum performance is being maintainedAssists procurement team with purchases of hardware, software and services as requiredSkillsHighly organized and have clear, concise communication skillsAbility to function in a Global organization with a flexible and dynamic team environmentSpecific experience is required in implementing and supporting enterprise network technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, QoS, Wan Optimization, wireless network solutions, and Cisco IP VPN, among othersDetailed understanding of advanced network security topics, such as firewalls, data encryption techniques and standards, vulnerability identification and risk mitigation, etc.Client-focused approach to workEducationCollege degree in a relevant technical area or equivalent work experienceRelevant industry certifications a plusLanguage SkillsMust be fluent in EnglishMinimum Work Experience5+ years of experience in a technical support role for LAN/WAN network systemsIn-depth knowledge of network environments (including providers and services)Experience with advanced network diagnostic toolsPrior relationships with network suppliers or experience working for a supplier
