Role Overview:

MEP Engineer with bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering over 11 years of relevant experience in a design office of repute. Should have exposure to design office practices using computer aided design and 3D modeling tools.

Candidate having design experience in Semiconductor facility, Battery manufacturing and data center will be added advantage.

Selected candidate will report to the Engineer Group Supervisor and essential job duties will include the following:

  • Perform analysis and design of wet utilities, piping systems or electrical distribution using software and manual methods.
  • Perform independently system design, prepare flow diagram and Piping and Instrument diagrams(P&ID's), Design Basis Report (DBR) etc.
  • Prepare calculation reports, material requisitions, service requisitions, technical specifications, bill of quantity (BOQ) and provide input for design drawings during all phases of projects.
  • Check the drawings prepared by the designers.
  • Participate in conceptual studies, proposals.
  • Perform construction administration such as answering RFIs and shop drawing submittals.
  • Designs plumbing systems including hot and cold water, sanitary, venting, grease waste, storm water etc. based on local and international code requirements.
  • In charge of for monitoring, assessing, and responding to contractors reports and would assist in monitoring and evaluating change order proposals pertaining to MEP components of the project.

Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:

  • Knowledge of discipline engineering techniques and design calculation principles.
  • Knowledge of detail engineering and deliverables and understanding of the complete design work process including the tools.
  • Understanding of engineering procedures and design guides.
  • Basic understanding of the roles played by other engineering disciplines on projects.
  • Hands on experience on design of building plumbing and hydronic systems, water heaters, eyewash & showers booster pumping station etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as IPC, NBC, other international and state codes.
  • Good skills in oral and written communication.
  • Should be proficient in using MS office tools.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates who are proficient in using 3D structural modeling software such as Revit etc.
  • Thorough understanding of the interface process with other disciplines.
  • Knowledge in fire protection system design and other MEP system will be added advantage.

Experience Level: 11+ years

Education required (minimum):

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
  • Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated.
