Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior Revenue Accountant is a regional position that reports to the Accounting Manager within the Ansys Revenue team and will be based in and support the Asia-Pacific region. This position will participate in various revenue related functions including providing support to the APAC sales and operations teams on deal structuring and contract review to ensure US GAAP revenue compliance, various regional analytics on revenue and ACV data, and providing support to the local finance teams with certain revenue related tasks. This position will collaborate closely with the global revenue team and the Order to Cash department along with additional groups within Ansys such as accounting/reporting, tax, business operations, accounts receivable, and FP&A.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with APAC sales, deal desk, sales operations, and business operations personnel through deal construction, drafting, and completion to ensure contracts are completed in compliance with US GAAP revenue rules (ASC 606).
- Support SOX controls through review and providing approval within the CRM for orders above threshold to ensure accurate order entry and ASC 606 compliance.
- Supporting the local finance teams and global revenue teams with certain closing activities such as manual revenue journal entries, net down entries and other reporting.
- Quarterly, complete variance analysis through Blackline for revenue and deferred revenue accounts for APAC entities.
- Ad hoc revenue requests and assisting with revenue forecasts on certain contracts.
- Support both internal and external audit with data requests.
- Support the department's values and learning initiatives.
- Participate in and identify areas for process improvement and automation.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Prefer two years accounting experience, preferably in revenue recognition or with a technology company.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English in addition to any local languages
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- ASC 606 revenue recognition experience
- Oracle experience is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working at a public, multinational technology company
