About the Position

We are seeking skilled team members to join a dynamic team that strives to push boundaries, foster innovation, and play a key role in the transition from conventional powertrains to eMobility.

Your role involves designing and developing model-based functional software for driveline electronic control systems and components. Working from broad specifications, you will not only execute tasks but also lead engineering activities such as creating & testing model-based software in matlab/Simulink/Targetlink for All Wheel Drive Torque Distribution systems

You will independently plan, design, and execute work assignments, often acting as a technical expert within the project team.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Modeling in Simulink, Stateflow, and/or Targetlink – Designing, developing, and resolving issues related to new and existing electronic controls systems and components for powertrain, eDrives, and chassis products.
  • Ensuring a configurable, extendable/reusable driveline controls based on Magna's Platform Software concept.
  • Deriving specifications from system to components to software requirements, software unit test cases (MIL-SIL), software integration test strategy, and delivering product design in alignment with Automotive SPICE standards.
  • Engaging in or leading research efforts for new tools, best practices, and alternative approaches to optimal electrical components and software development.
  • Collaborating effectively in an Agile team setting.
  • Maintaining a sound understanding of safety policies and regulations to ensure that work tasks, both personal and others', are conducted safely.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Model-based functional software Developer

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering required (Electrical, Software, Controls Engineering or similar preferred).
  • 3 to 8 Years experience with modeling tools e.g. Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow and automatic code generation (DSpace Targetlink, DataDictionary) required.
  • Proficiency with Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe) and Version Control system (e.g. PTC) is advantageous. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in C, C++.
  • Experience with Application Software for powertrain electro-mechanical components (clutches, axle lockers, axle disconnect units, etc.), eDrives, Brushed/Brushless motor drives is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Application Software for Vehicle Dynamics & Stability is a plus.
  • Prior exposure to the automotive industry is highly valued.
  • Demonstrates a high level of analytical ability, comprehension of engineering principles and design concepts.
  • Proficient in computer-based software, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively in a team environment.
